Nurse practitioners and registered nurses

For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME (Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education).

Physician assistants

The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) states that the AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ are acceptable for continuing medical education requirements for recertification.

All other advanced practice disciplines such as pharmacists, psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and researchers will be provided a certificate as proof of participation, to be used toward relicensure or recertification, if applicable. Many societies and credentialing bodies accept the AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ as an equivalent as long as the topic is relevant to the applicant’s field or discipline. If you have doubts about whether an activity will qualify for continuing education, please contact your board prior to taking the course.

I’m a nurse practitioner. Can I claim CME credits?

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) accepts CME credits from organizations accredited by the ACCME. When entering your Medmastery certificates into the log, you will be asked to enter the total number of contact hours. One AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ equals one contact hour. I’m a nurse. Can I claim CME credits?

The AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ that Medmastery provides can be used to fulfill Category 1 continuing education hours requirements. For more information, please visit: www.nursingworld.org/ancc/.

I’m a physician assistant. Can I claim CME credits?

I’m a paramedic. Can I claim CME credits?

Upon finishing our Medmastery courses, you will receive a certificate of completion and should check with your state or local EMS office whether you can submit that for CE requirements.

How many CME credits will I be able to earn through Medmastery?

The Pro Membership will give you access to all courses and workshops worth over 300 CME credits.

How can I upgrade to the Pro Membership?

If you already have a Basic Membership, you can easily upgrade to the Pro Membership here anytime.

I’m not a physician. Will I be able to use your CME credits?

That depends upon your professional body. Most will allow you to convert AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ to their system. Our CME guide provides more in-depth information about the matter. If you need more information, please contact your professional body first.

I’m from outside the USA and Europe. Are the CME credits recognized where I’m from?

Many countries and professional boards accept the credits we provide. Our CME guide should be able to help you find this information. If not, please contact your local professional body about the conversion modalities.

What types of CME are available?

You can earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and European CME credits (ECMEC) when completing Medmastery workshops or courses. Medmastery has entered into a joint providership with CME Consultants, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for clinicians. Moreover, our platform is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), which has mutual recognition agreements with over 20 European countries.

I am a Basic member, can I claim CME credits?

No. To claim CME credits, you need to upgrade to the Pro Membership. We have designed our Pro Membership to meet the needs of practicing healthcare professionals. Many of our Basic members are students who do not yet need to claim CME. We provide a variety of options to meet each learners needs and to ensure you are correctly aligned in your membership choice!
