I recently retired as the Chief of Neurosurgery at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. I trained in neurosurgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and have received multiple awards, performing over 13,000 major neurosurgical procedures during the course of my career. Today I keep myself busy teaching neuroscience, writing novels, and learning to play the bagpipes.
